Our Mission
Built in the Field. Proven on the Job
DHC was founded with a focus on the work that happens before the structure goes vertical. Our experience in heavy equipment operation, excavation, grading, drainage, and site preparation allows us to understand what general contractors need in the field—safe execution, accurate grades, dependable production, and communication they can count on.
Today, Dredge Heavy Construction partners with general contractors and developers to perform earthwork and site development on commercial projects of all sizes.
Our LeadershipÂ

Tristen Trimaine Thomas
FOUNDER & CEO
Tristen Thomas founded Dredge Heavy Construction with a clear vision: build a company known for dependable field execution, strong relationships, and work that speaks for itself.

His career was built in the field, developing hands-on experience operating heavy equipment and performing excavation, grading, site preparation, building pad construction, and storm drainage. That experience later led Tristen into heavy-equipment instruction, where he trained the next generation of operators as an NCCER Heavy Equipment Instructor.

Rather than building Dredge Heavy Construction from behind a desk, Tristen built the company from the seat of the equipment and on active jobsites. That field-first background continues to shape the way DHC operates today—understand the plans, communicate with the contractor, solve problems in the field, and keep the project moving.

Under his leadership, DHC has expanded beyond its Louisiana roots to pursue and perform commercial sitework opportunities throughout the Gulf South and across state lines. The company's focus remains centered on earthwork, grading, building pads, storm drainage, and site development.

For Tristen, DHC is about more than moving dirt. It's about building a company general contractors can trust when the work needs to get done.
